I lost a diamond!…and found another one in the rough

This diamond in the rough will hopefully be a girl’s best friend. In this episode, I introduce my new Retired Racehorse Project project, Henri, and talk a little about what I look for in a horse.

After two years of wearing my diamond wedding band in the barn, I finally lost a stone. Lesson: the only diamonds you work with in the barn should be of the equine variety.

Turkey, Ty Ty, and Magna Wave

The struggle is real. In this week’s vlog, I visit Free Form Farm for a mini clinic, celebrate Thanksgiving with my family (the struggle is real), and get some magnawave therapy from my friends at Horses ‘n Motion. I also talk a little about my Jack Russell Ty Ty, who’s gluttony has gotten him into a lot of trouble over the years.

My Broken Foot

Hwin (aka ‘Sassy Britches’) completed her first training-level event at the Florida Horse Park in Ocala, Florida. She did great, especially considering that she had not competed since July. I’m really excited about this horse, and have my eyes set of doing prelim, and maybe even doing a one star with her some time in 2016.

I finally got the results back from my MRI. My foot is ACTUALLY broken, but life on the farm must go one.

Want to know how you can tell if your horse has stopped growing, and how to estimate how tall they are likely to become? Corteo (aka Tata aka Potato) help be to demonstrate the ‘rope test.’

MRI and Pickle Juice

Putting in some milage on Corteo and witnessing some serious mustang antics from goober-head Rune. As I drive down to Ocala, I explain a little bit about my love for mustangs, and why I ceased my breeding program to dedicate myself to the promotion of mustang adoption. Oh, and I also get an MRI on my broken foot and quench my thirst with some delicious pickle juice.

Electrolytes. Yum.
